The island is surrounded by endless open sea that makes you feel completely secluded from the rest of the world. When seen from distance, it seems as though Susac consists of two islands.
Susac lighthouse was built in 1878 on the highest point of the extremely steep southern side of the island, where there are numerous cliffs jetting out of the deep crystal clear sea. The lighthouse building lies at a height of 100 m and offers views of the endless open sea. The lighthouse is a stone, ground-floor building with two four-bed apartments. There is a berth where smaller boats can be pulled out in the vicinity of the lighthouse.
Concrete steps make it easy both for children and adults to enter the water. On the other side of the islet, there are several beaches that are not suitable for small children. The surrounding waters are very shallow and warm during the summer, meaning that the average water temperature is higher than in most other places in Dalmatia. Therefore, swimming on Prisnjak is possible even in October.
Transfer Vela luka - Susac - Vela luka is organized by speed-boats of Mediterano travel agency. Return transfer is charged extra and lasts 45 minutes.
We kindly ask all guests to arrange the transfer several days before arrival. It is aslo possible to get a transfer directly from Split airport to the lighthouse (600 Euro per apartment - one way).
Due to island's distance from the mainland, supplies should be brought along!
