Local residents retell a legend about Cape Zub (tooth) and its unusual
name.
The legends has it that the toothless wife of a local fisherman stood
on a rock near the lighthouse waiting for her husband who went to
the sea with his boat. However, when the husband landed the shore
again, he looked in disbelief at his wife who was standing in front
of him smiling and showing her beautiful new teeth. Since then the
rock on cape Lanterna has been called cape tooth (rt Zub) and has
been associated with magical powers. Even today in Novigrad there
are many people who know this unusual story.
